Wellbeing and working together – COVID-19

As we all work towards understanding our individual responsibilities and the important role we all play in the community to reduce the spread of COVID-19, it is important for us to look after ourselves and each other. Disturbing scenes of empty shelves in the supermarkets and distressing updates on the severe global impact of COVID-19, can have an impact on our sense of wellbeing.

When seeking information about COVID-19, try to look at balanced and creditable sources of information. The most reliable source of information on COVID-19 continues to be the World Health Organization. The Australian Department of Education Skills and Employment and Victorian Department of Health and Human Services provide up to date, reliable and specific advice for parents and schools regarding this rapidly evolving situation.

Please be aware that amongst the vast amount of information circulating about COVID-19, there is also some misinformation being spread on the internet. When sharing information within the school community, please be careful that the information comes from a reputable source.

We have included an information sheet from the Australian Psychological Society on Tips for coping with coronavirus anxiety. The information sheet outlines some useful strategies which can help both adults and children cope with the stress or anxiety experienced as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

The wellbeing of all Erasmus students, their families and staff remains our highest priority. Thank you for your understanding as we work through this together.

Kind regards,
Thierry
