An end of year message from our Principal

Dear Parents and Friends,

As the school year comes to a close, and I reflect on our shared journey, it goes without saying, amidst the challenges we’ve faced and the triumphs we’ve celebrated together, our capacity to be resilient and stay united has been our strength. This was so evident leading up to and including our school production, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, where students worked together conscientiously to achieve a brilliant performance. The Winter Wonderland Fair in August, where our whole school community came together to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate the opening of our new classrooms.

Amongst all the events of the year, our students were able to rise to each occasion wholeheartedly; I cannot help thinking that the power of our school virtues has contributed towards them being the best version of themselves: a guiding light – brilliant young human beings!

As we bid farewell to this year, I wish to congratulate our Year 6 graduates on their final days at Erasmus Primary School. Having this group of students graduating and leaving the school is akin to having a family member leave the nest, ready to face the big world for themselves. On behalf of all staff, I wish our graduates the best in their future endeavours – may their light always shine brightly.

I also wish the very best for those families who have been part of our school community and are leaving Erasmus this year. May they all continue to allow their light to shine.

Lastly, I wish to acknowledge the retirement of Mr John Jepsen from Head of the School of Philosophy. 47 years of service includes initiating the founding of Erasmus Primary School, followed by 25 subsequent years of support of Erasmus. Three Erasmus Year 3 students, Shresh, Maya and Jasia, represented Erasmus last Sunday to celebrate Mr Jepsen’s leadership at the School of Philosophy. The three students sang in Sanskrit, including ancient classical hand gestures with English translations, then presented Mr Jepsen with this glorious message of thanks – see below.

May the Christmas break be filled with moments of joy, growth, and shared accomplishments. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a new year filled with hope, resilience, and togetherness.

Take care of yourselves and each other.

Kind regards,
Thierry
