Welcome to Term 3!

Dear Erasmus Community,

Welcome to Term 3! I hope that you all managed to enjoy some down time, family time and space away from the hustle and bustle of school drop offs and activities.

A busy but exciting term awaits us all.

As you will have noticed, the landscape of Erasmus has changed since last term. Stage 2 works have commenced! The move has happened for Year 1 and 2 who now occupy the Art and Music Room and for Year 5/6 who are now in the Library. I sincerely thank all the staff for their efforts in making the move happen but particularly Matthew Tonta and Kim Robertson; and parents Tamara, Charles and Lindy who worked tirelessly throughout the holidays to ensure everything went where it should. Special thanks also to Mrs Jowett and Miss Nugent who helped create amazing learning spaces with their wonderful planning and ideas.

I spoke to all the students on Tuesday morning on the changes to their play space and how we can ensure we are moving safely and carefully through the school. There is a genuine feeling of excitement in the air as we begin to watch the builders create our new building.

Rehearsals for our Founder’s Day performance of ‘The Ramayana’ are well underway. Ms Horne is doing an amazing job preparing and working with the students for what will be an amazing show. The performance will be held at the Kew High School Theatre on Friday 9th September. More details will follow in regards to ticket sales.

Parent Teacher Interviews are happening next week so please make a booking online if you haven’t already done so.

I leave you with this quote ‘Don’t Say No, Say How’ I chose this quotation as it perfectly sums up the staff and students attitude to the changes to our building, classrooms and learning spaces. Never once did I hear a complaint, only ideas and ways to make things work. A true testament to our values and embracing our virtues.

Have a wonderful week.

Melissa Albers – Acting Principal
