Mindfulness for Life

A short course in the science, practice and philosophy of mindfulness presented by the School of Philosophy – Melbourne

Mindfulness is both a form of meditation and a way of living. For millennia, the world’s great wisdom traditions have embraced the principles and practice of mindfulness, but in recent times it has been “discovered” by the mainstream, with applications in fields as diverse as mental health, neuroscience, genetics, work, education, sport and leadership.

Mindfulness for Life will be presented by well-known mindfulness teacher, Dr Craig Hassed OAM. It will explore the science, practice and philosophy of mindfulness. Each week will include guided mindfulness meditation practices and discussion on how to apply it in daily life.

This four-week course will cover the following topics:

Mindfulness and Physical Health
Mindfulness and Mental Health
Mindfulness, Performance and Education
The Philosophy of Mindfulness

Dates: Four consecutive Tuesday evenings from 7.00–9.30pm beginning on February 25

Venue: MacLaren Hall, 45 Riversdale Road, Hawthorn

Enrolment fee: $160 ($100 concession)
