Camp Manyung and other Week 3 Highlights
Week 3 already; the year is undoubtedly moving at a fast pace. It has been a hectic yet exhilarating and rewarding week.
The Year 4s set off on Monday morning to experience the joy and excitement of Camp Manyung. I have been keeping in contact with Ms Lavcanski and Mr Blair, who report the students have been having an absolute wow of a time. The weather has been their friend, allowing them to enjoy the camp’s many outdoor adventures. A very big thank you to Ms Lavcanski and Mr Blair for taking such excellent care of our Year 4 students.
Congratulations to Year 3 and Year 5 students as they continue complete NAPLAN testing this week. The students have coped very well with the online demands of the testing and displayed patience and perseverance as we faced a few technical difficulties along the way.
We welcomed back old traditions in our dining room this week that we haven’t enjoyed since 2020. Students once again commenced serving each other before themselves, sharing food. A delicious dessert of almonds and honey complemented and finished our lunch together in a very satisfying way. Lots of smiles all around.
Ms Horne, Mr Dojcinovic and I auditioned Year 5 and 6 students for roles in our school production for ‘The Ramayana’ this year. Mr D and I thoroughly enjoyed being part of this process – the students adapted their voices and body language to the various character roles demonstrating great confidence and understanding of the different elements of drama. Ms Horne was in her artistic element and shone showing her stage experience and talent. It was so exciting to watch! Congratulations, Year 5 & 6 students and Ms Horne.
I look forward to seeing as many parents as possible next Monday morning at our Open Assembly, followed by this term’s Celebration of Learning. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit your child’s/children’s classroom/s to see learning in action.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
